About

Hey Hey!

I’m Dashaé (day-juh), and I’m so happy you’ve decided to check out my blog!

A little about me: I graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology (Sports Medicine Concentration) in May of 2017, and will be starting Duke’s DPT program in August of 2018 (exciting right)! I’ve always enjoyed helping others (hint hint: one of the reasons I chose the physical therapy profession), so on a whim, I decided to create a blog to guide, mentor, and motivate pre-PT students!

I have seen so many blogs catering to current and future MD/DOs, RNs, and PAs , but not many that cater to current and future PTs. As a pre-PT student, I would have loved to see inspiration from practicing PTs. I would have loved to see a plethora of PT blogs + other online resources. I would have loved to follow someone’s journey through PT school, so that I could know what to expect. Because of this lack of representation, I decided to help make that happen for someone that may be feeling what I was feeling, and I am so glad I did!

Using this platform, I hope to connect with other students and healthcare providers, + share my journey through PT school, and life! As a student and future clinician, one of my career goals is to help increase the presence of underrepresented minorities in healthcare, while also decreasing healthcare disparities! *steps off soap box*

If you ever have any questions, or just need someone to talk to (I’m an ESFJ, so I’m always up for making new friends), feel free to use the form below, email me at thecurlyclinician@gmail.com, or DM me on Instagram anytime!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you back soon (:
